Cookie policy
This page explains which cookies and local storage audreypascual.com uses, what they are for, who provides them, how long they last and how you can accept, reject or withdraw your consent at any time.
1. What cookies and local storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores on your device so it can recognise it on later visits. Local storage (localStorage) works in a similar way, but it is not sent to the server with every request: the browser itself stores it and only the site that created it can read it.
This website uses a single measurement tool, Google Analytics 4, plus its own local storage to remember your choices. It does not use advertising, profiling or social media cookies, and it does not share data for advertising purposes.
2. Measurement cookies (Google Analytics 4)
These cookies are only created if you accept the cookie notice. Until you do, Google's tag is not downloaded and the website sends no request to Google.
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga |
Google (Google Ireland Limited) | Distinguishing anonymous users and calculating visits, sessions and aggregated audience data for the site. | 2 years |
_ga_M345RYSMF6 |
Google (Google Ireland Limited) | Keeping the measurement session state for this site (measurement ID G-M345RYSMF6). |
2 years |
These durations are the defaults Google applies in Google Analytics 4 and can be shortened in the property settings. The information sent to Google is statistical and aggregated: these cookies are not used to show you advertising or to build commercial profiles.
More information: Google's privacy policy and the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
3. The site's own local storage (not cookies)
These items are stored by your browser to remember your choices. They are not sent to third parties and are not used for advertising.
| Name | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|
audrey-preferred-language |
Remembering the language you chose (Spanish or English) so it is not suggested again. | Until you clear your browser data |
audrey-language-notice-dismissed |
Remembering that you dismissed the language suggestion. | Until you clear your browser data |
audrey-cookie-consent |
Remembering your decision about the measurement cookies (accepted or rejected). | Until you clear your browser data |
This storage is technical and necessary: it only holds your own preferences so that the site works as you expect, so it does not depend on cookie consent.
4. Third-party content: the Instagram video
The skiing section includes a video published on Instagram. The player only loads if you click the “Load the reel” button: until then the page does not connect to Instagram or load any of its scripts. If you do not click it, no request is made to Instagram.
If you choose to load it, your browser connects to Instagram's servers (Meta Platforms Ireland Limited), which may set its own cookies and process data such as your IP address, browser type or the page you came from. We do not control those cookies and they are governed by Instagram's privacy policy.
If you would rather not load it, next to the button there is a link to open the video directly on Instagram in a new tab.
5. How to accept, reject or withdraw consent
- Accept or reject: the first time you visit you will see a notice at the bottom with two buttons, “Accept” and “Reject”, of equal weight and one click away.
- Change your mind or withdraw consent: the “Cookie settings” link in the footer reopens that notice at any time, in both the Spanish and the English version. If you reject, measurement stops and the
_gacookies that the browser allows deleting from the page itself are deleted. - Keep in mind: your decision is stored in your browser. If you clear your browser data, the website will ask you again.
Once consent is withdrawn we stop loading Google's tag and stop sending data. Any cookies already sent to Google on previous visits are kept according to their own retention periods and cannot be deleted from this site: you can delete them from your browser or with the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked above.
6. How to delete cookies from your browser
You can delete or block cookies and local storage in your browser's privacy settings; the option is usually under “Settings” → “Privacy and security” → “Cookies and site data”. If you block them completely, the website will still work: you will only lose your language preferences and will see the cookie notice again.
7. Changes to this policy
If new tools or third-party content that use cookies are added in the future, this page will be updated before they go live and will show the date of the last revision.
